Obligatury Paddy's day note.
Thu., March 18, 02:04 PM
Ok so St. Paddys day here was yesterday. I'm a bit late but who cares. For those of you who know my real name will know how Irish it is and my mothers maiden name was O'H___ so I can claim Irish bloodlines. Unlike many kiwis who suddenly seem to be Irish on St. Paddys day. Here its celebrated with gusto, everything turns green and the guiness flows. I will go as far as wearing green, eating some appalling green buns my mother put in my school lunchbox one day, (no mum I HAVEN'T forgotten that) and celebrate with the best of them but I will not drink Guiness. It's vile stuff and I've only ever managed a mouthful of it. This year I didn't do anything apart from wearing a green shirt but that was more just conincidence than planning. It just happened to be the shirt on top of the clean washing pile that had yet to find its way into the drawers.
Speaking of green food, Mum why was it On St. Padys day every year you got green food for us to eat, but when me and ugly (my brother) tried to colour the whipped cream for dessert those times you went spastic? Go on, explain that one. Heh.
Seen at some health website thingy.
"Eating apples and drinking apple juice may be good for your brain.
Researchers examining the effects of apple juice on brain function determined that the antioxidants in apples and apple juice may help prevent some of the damage to memory and brain function that can result from oxidative stress. The researchers speculate that the equivalent of two or three apples per day could provide the benefit. "
So does this mean if I drink Cider the apples will cancel out the alcohol and I won't lose any brain cells?
