What a weekend

The annual mystery bus trip lived up to expectations once again. Friday night saw us cracking open the beers 10 seconds after boarding the bus so it was a good sign. We headed on up to Auckland which is about 1 1/2 hrs from here. On the way all the mobile phones came out and we were swapping text mesages constantly. The 2 most popular msgs that got passed around were (now excuse the txt speak, as much as I hate it, it fits)
"Do u take me 2 b ur lovable txtmate, 2 have & 2 hold, 4 rich quote or corny joke in txt msging & in poor reception till low battery do us part?"
and comming in at no. 2
"The vagina is the best rehabilitation centre in the worl, even the most violent & hardest prick comes out humble and reduced in size"
Kinda icky but still funny. I am so attatched to my phone right now its ridiculous. Fell asleep the other night with it in my hand embarrasingly enough. Scared the poop out of me when a mesage came back.
Anyway back to the weekend, did the trots then hit the town which was a bit lame cos we were sobering up and short of cash.
Next morning after breakfast (it was the first time I had seen an old guy in a suit knocking back bourbob for brekkie) we caught the Ferry out to Waiheke Island. There we did a big walk out to an old gun emplacement site for some hijinks in darkened tunnels, then a long walk back to the bus to the next activity. It was a mystery trip around the Island in teeny tiny Suzuki Vitaras. Congratulations must go out to Suzuki for creating such a gutless wonder. Can you picture 4 large guys and me squished into one of these creations? I became quite aquainted with the wheel arch. Our team started ok, they all blamed me for missing a clue because I was too busy texting (I got a hilarious txt and just had to reply, it would have been rude not to) but in the end after some speedy driving, molesting the other teams and general "discussion" we lost.
Then it was back on the ferry to do the Auckland Harbour Bridge Climb. Well worht the generous discount price we got, but I'm not sure if it would be worht the $110 they charge normally. Because we got a discount, our guide did the walk at pace. We did it just on dark so had a really cool view of dorkland at night from up the top of the bridge. (438 steps in all)
Saturady night saw us watching rugby, stuffing ourselves at a buffet and more drinking. Shame the Chiefs lost, they did well to make the semis.
Today found us mini golfing and swimming at hot pools. My partner and I won the first round of golfing, but I completely sucked at the second round as my concentration span let me down. All in all a fun weekend for a fraction of the price had we had to pay for it all ourselves.
