I worked my first afternoon shift yesterday. Very very cruisy compared to morning shift, we work at about half the speed. One of the residents died on us, it was peaceful she was more than ready to go. She was one of everybodys favourites, a real character.

Getting ready for work is now more time consuming than it used to be. The routine used to be:
Up
clothes on
hair, just shove a cap on brush it later
quick drink and off
The cows don't care what you look like as long as the required cuddles and food are promptly served.

The morning routine now is
up
wash
food
liquid
quick blog check
uniform, clean and ironed
name badge on
pen in pocket
transfer belt on
hand wash in pocket
hair brushed and tied up so no-one grabs a handful of it
shoes clean and securely tied
lunch

Sigh so much work and so little time.
