Hell and singing

Mon., June 7, 05:05 PM

Today was the day from hell at work. To start with I woke up at 6:47am and needed to be at wotk at 7am 27 minutes drive away. I made it there in record time, all the time hoping like hell there was no speed cameras or policemen along the way. I get there and 2 of the night shift staff are literally screaming at each other, with 2 girls from our shift standing in the middle in preperation to break up the snarling and clawing that was going on. The nurse who is charge each shift showed up just after I did, only to find there was a resident over in the rest home wing dying so she had to rush off and take over form the night nurse. So morning pills were late, residents were grumpy, staff were worked up it made for an interesting day. We survived until lunch time when all hell broke lose again, this time in the form of smelly accidents, lunch orders messed up and due to it being a public holiday and influx of families to visit.

I slept in because my alarm didn't go off due to unknow technical dificulties and the fact that I went to a mates house warming last night. It was great fun, us kiwis were out-numbered by Irishmen 3-1. The night quickly progressed into very loud renditions of pretty much every Irish song the guys could remember. At volume. Good times.
